At Build Your English, we focus on immersive, practical activities that train both conscious and subconscious language skills. Instead of spending hours memorizing rules and vocabulary lists, students develop English naturally through communication, repetition, and real-world interaction.

Who are your English classes for?
Our classes are designed for anyone who wants to improve their English for work, everyday life, and career growth. We especially work with people in customer-facing and hands-on industries, including restaurants, hotels, construction, maintenance, salons, barbershops, retail, and other workplaces where clear communication matters. You do not need to speak perfect English to get started!
What English levels do you teach?
We work with English learners at different levels, from beginners who are still building their confidence to more advanced speakers who want to improve their pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, or professional communication. Before beginning, we will discuss your current English level and your goals so your lessons are appropriate for you.
What will I learn?

Instead of following the exact same program for every student, lessons are adjusted to focus on the English you actually need.
Do you offer private English lessons?
Yes. Private lessons give you one-on-one instruction based on your English level, goals, career, and areas you would like to improve. Private lessons are a good option if you want personalized instruction or want to focus on a specific goal.
Do you offer group classes?
Yes. Group classes are available for learners who want to improve their English alongside others. This can range from 2 or 3 people for friends who’d like to learn English together, to larger groups for businesses that want to help multiple employees improve their workplace English and communication skills.
Do you offer English classes for businesses?
Yes. We can work directly with businesses to create English training based on the communication needs of their employees. For example, a restaurant may want employees to practice taking orders, explaining menu items, handling customer complaints, and communicating with coworkers. A construction company may need completely different vocabulary and communication skills. Training can be built around your industry and workplace.
Are your classes only about grammar?
No! Grammar is important, but our approach focuses much more on real world conversations and subconscious learning to avoid the tedious task of memorizing grammar rules. Our goal is to help you use English in real situations. Lessons can include conversation, pronunciation, listening, vocabulary, role-playing, grammar, and practical situations you may experience at work or in everyday life.
Can you help me with my pronunciation?
Yes. Pronunciation is incorporated into your lessons, especially if your goal is to speak more clearly and be more easily understood. The goal is not to eliminate your accent. Having an accent is normal. Instead, we can work on sounds, stress, rhythm, and other pronunciation skills that can make communication easier.
Can you help me prepare for a job interview?
Yes. We can practice common interview questions, improve your answers, work on vocabulary related to your industry, and practice speaking confidently and professionally. We can also simulate an interview so you can practice answering questions in a realistic setting.
Can you help me with English specifically for my job?
Absolutely. This is one of the main focuses of Build Your English. Lessons can be tailored to the situations you experience at work. Instead of only studying general vocabulary, you can practice the words, phrases, conversations, and situations that are actually relevant to your career.
How do I know what I need to improve?
You don't need to know before you begin. During your initial consultation and assessment, we'll discuss your goals, current challenges, and the situations where you use English. From there, we will identify areas to focus on and create a plan for improving your English.
How long does it take to improve my English?
Everyone learns at a different pace, so there is no single answer. Your progress will depend on your current level, goals, how often you take lessons, and how much you practice outside of class. Rather than promising fluency within a certain amount of time, we'll focus on making consistent, measurable progress toward your individual goals.
Do I need to buy a textbook?
No. Materials are provided with some additional materials being recommended based on your lessons and goals.
What if I'm nervous or embarrassed about speaking English?
That's completely okay. You are learning, and making mistakes is part of that process. Lessons are designed to give you opportunities to practice without the pressure of needing to speak perfectly. As you practice, the goal is to help you become more comfortable communicating even when you aren't sure of every word or grammar rule.
